Schengen Calculator – Easily Track Your Schengen Stay Compliance

In compliance with Schengen regulations, non-EEA nationals are restricted to a maximum stay of 90 days within any continuous 180-day period, either without a visa or with a multiple-entry Schengen visa. While this rule may seem straightforward, it is frequently misunderstood by travelers, leading to overstays and potential penalties such as fines, deportation, or future entry bans.

To simplify this process, our Schengen visa experts have developed the Short-Stay Calculator, a tool designed to help you accurately calculate your permitted stay within the Schengen Area. This calculator is based on our extensive experience and deep knowledge of Schengen regulations.

How to use?

Using the Schengen Short-Stay Calculator is simple. Follow these simple steps to ensure you stay compliant with the 90/180 rule:

  1. Enter Your Entry and Exit Dates: Input the exact dates of your entries and exits from the Schengen Zone. Refer to the passport stamps to ensure accuracy.
  2. Add Multiple Trips: If you’ve made multiple trips to the Schengen Area, use the plus sign to add more entry and exit dates.
  3. Calculate Your Stay: After entering all your travel dates, click the calculation button to get your total stay in the Schengen Area.
  4. Review Your Results: The calculator will display your total days stayed, the last date you can legally remain, and how many days you have left in your 180-day window.

Important Reminder:  While our EU Stay Calculator is a helpful tool for managing your visa allowance, it does not guarantee the right to stay beyond the calculated days. Always check with the relevant authorities if you’re unsure about your visa status or have complex travel plans.

Special Conditions for Bilateral Visa Waivers

The Schengen Stay Calculator does not account for more favorable visa rules that may exist under bilateral visa waiver agreements between certain Schengen states and third countries. For example, under Article 20(2) of the Convention Implementing the Schengen Agreement (CISA), some Schengen countries may allow visa-free nationals from countries like Canada, New Zealand, or the United States to extend their stay beyond the 90-day limit, based on older bilateral agreements.

For more information about these agreements, refer to the European Commission’s official documents or consult with the embassy of the relevant Schengen country.
